About Elaine
Elaine Stephenson is an Atlanta artist and muralist creating bright and colorful art with positive messages to uplift and inspire.
She draws from her personal experience with anxiety and depression as a means to create art that focuses on the beauty of life and encourages others. Born in Atlanta, she studied graphic design at the University of Georgia, which ignited her love for typography and bold design. After a 10 year design career she started her own art and mural business, combining both her strategic design skills and an artistic voice to create art that enhances spaces. Since beginning her mural journey in 2018, she has painted over 50 murals throughout Georgia, from Blue Ridge to Athens. Elaine is very involved in public art and has several large murals around Atlanta, such as a bridge underpass in the West End and a parking garage entrance at Atlantic Station. Her fine art has been exhibited in galleries from Georgia to Colorado such as ABV Gallery, FreeMarket Gallery, Cat Eye Creative, MINT Gallery, Ryan Joseph Gallery, The Print Shop, Empire Arts Gallery, Avondale Arts Center, and Arches Brewing. Stephenson has been featured in publications such as the AJC, Arts Atlanta, Shoutout Atlanta, Reporter Intown Newspapers, City Lights on WABE, and the Atlanta Street Art Map. She lives with her family and cats in Decatur and outside of art enjoys yoga, traveling, and consuming too many chai lattes.

Artist Statement & CV
ARTIST STATEMENT: My purpose is to make the world a better place by creating positive, beautiful, and impactful art.
The goal of my art is to bring someone a moment of joy through observing and interacting with the art. I embrace a more feminine style as a way to celebrate being a woman and flowers are one way I convey that. While flowers and typography play a big role in my work, I’m also inspired by geometry, nature, and abstraction. This allows for a variety in subject matter, but what my styles have in common are bright colors and a positive message. My design background greatly enhances my creative process, as I approach each project partially from a strategic point of view as well as a personal one. I truly thrive in my creations when I am creating art for causes I am passionate about.
